Impacting Lives

Through Programs & Activities
At Hope Center KC, we transform lives by weaving together powerful youth programs, community-building events, and purposeful fundraising initiatives. We guide individuals from elementary through high school while strengthening families through comprehensive support and community resources. Every program we run, every family we support, and every community initiative we launch works together to create lasting change – building stronger families, empowering youth, and fostering a more vibrant East-side community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

S.A.Y. Yes!

K-5th Grade - Monday - Thursday 3:30pm-6pm

S.A.Y. Yes! empowers elementary school children to build strong foundations for success through engaging after-school programming. In this nurturing environment, students discover their unique strengths, develop essential life skills, and embrace positive values that will guide them throughout their lives. Through structured activities, mentoring relationships, and character-building experiences, children learn to believe in themselves while gaining the social and cultural awareness needed to thrive.

Character In Training

4th - 6th Grade - Tuesdays and Wednesdays 5:30pm-8pm

Through interactive lessons and hands-on activities, students develop strong character, leadership skills, and the confidence to make positive choices. Our program builds future community leaders by focusing on personal empowerment, compassionate decision-making, and the strength to resist negative influences. Each activity is designed to help young people discover their voice while learning valuable life skills that will serve them throughout their journey.

JR Leaders In Training

7th - 8th Grade - Tuesdays and Wednesdays 5:30pm-8pm

Our engaging program equips youth with vital tools for success - from mastering effective communication and time management to understanding healthy boundaries and personal accountability. Through guided activities and community service, students build character while discovering their power to create positive change. These real-world experiences help shape confident, responsible young people who take pride in contributing to their neighborhood's growth.

Leaders In Training

9th - 12th Grade - Tuesdays and Wednesdays 5:30pm-8pm

Building on the foundation of Junior Leaders in Training, this advanced program deepens students' leadership skills while strengthening family bonds through increased parent and caregiver engagement. Youth explore their future through career workshops and hands-on service learning, developing crucial time management abilities and personal motivation. These structured experiences prepare students for success while fostering meaningful connections with both family and community.

School partnerships

The Hope Center continued to build on its ongoing partnership with Central Middle School, further deepening connections with students. This year, we expanded into Central High School, engaging even more youth through interactive sessions designed to foster connection, engagement, and a strong sense of community—complete with prizes, gifts, and snacks. Welcomed by supportive teachers and administrators, many of whom are current or former Hope Center volunteers, we are grateful for the growing partnership with both Central High and Middle School.

Collaborative relationships with local schools to extend support, resources, and mentoring beyond the classroom.

Mens Fraternity

Men's Fraternity guides participants on a transformative journey to authentic manhood through our comprehensive development program. Led by Hope Center KC's male mentors, this year-round brotherhood focuses on building well-rounded men through mental, social, spiritual, cultural, and emotional growth. Our structured approach uses four core tenets and developmental assets to help men discover their full potential and positive impact in our community.

Learn To Earn

Learn to Earn equips youth with real-world job skills through hands-on landscaping experience. Participants earn while they learn, mastering professional skills from property maintenance to client relations. Working on Hope Center properties and serving community clients, students develop strong work ethics, business awareness, and personal responsibility while providing valuable services to local seniors and organizations.
